Be Like Dad

This Father’s Day, STAY FRESH recognizes three Dads who have impacted their children’s lives with their influence within sports, style and music. LeBron James, Kanye West and DJ Khaled encapsulate these qualities all while maintaining a fatherly role for their families.

Lebron James

Raised in a single parent household, LeBron James and Gloria James’ unbreakable bond has molded the NBA superstar into the Legend he is today. His constant support for his children; Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri is always on display. Whether it’s bringing them to NBA All-Star Weekend interviews or coaching their amateur basketball teams, LeBron has always made time to be there for his kids. His constant attention to hard work and discipline has instilled the same qualities in his two sons, who both competitively play on a national level. The resemblance the boys share with their father even stretches to their on court style. Whether they’re wearing the signature King James headband or even a pair of Nike LeBron sneakers on-court, their dad's influence impacts them on every level.

Kanye West

Donda West, one of the most influential and positive role models in Kanye’s life has allowed him to maintain himself as a family man while still being able to reinvent music, fashion and other art forms. Kanye’s importance of family has always been present, but due to the unfortunate passing of his mother in 2007, his love for his children intensified. The affection for his children; North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm have constantly been on display even  amidst the many projects and other chaotic  Kanye moments. From letting his eldest daughter sing as his Yeezy Fashion show concluded, to fully immersing his kids into the Sunday Service events, Kanye has come full circle by bringing his world of Music, Fashion and Art into his family.

DJ Khaled

Known for his music achievements and being a Jordan Brand ambassador, DJ Khaled and his fast lane lifestyle has gradually grown apart with the recent additions of his sons; Asahd and Aalam. Khaled’s love for his family stems from his immigrant parents who instilled a 'work hard' mindset into him from a young age. Since then, Khaled’s support from his parents has blossomed into his own parental ways of loving his children. Khaled has even gone to the lengths of making his, then 6 month old, son Asadh an executive producer on his 2017 album, "Grateful." Khaled’s other influences such as his ongoing Jordan Brand partnership have even included the features of his two sons in the marketing campaigns. Although Asadh and Aalam are still very young, Khaled’s fatherly affection has already impacted their lives in a great deal.
