REAL TIME BY STAY FRESH AND EBAY | AUTHENTICATION EVENT RECAP

REAL TIME BY STAY FRESH AND EBAY | AUTHENTICATION EVENT RECAP

November 04, 2022

There aren’t many things that all sneakerheads can collectively agree on. But one of the rare common threads we all share is that; fake sneakers suck! With the over abundance of replica sneakers polluting the marketplace, there are only a few solutions at the moment that can guarantee reassurance to the community. With that shared sentiment, STAY FRESH and eBay Canada recently partnered up to celebrate all things sneakers at our REAL TIME Sneaker Authentication Pop-up Event.

REAL TIME by STAY FRESH and eBay was the end result of the strong, shared beliefs on the importance of sneaker authenticity within the community. Always striving for excellence in the products we deliver, the event was a way for both parties to showcase the passion, knowledge and resources it takes to offer guaranteed authentic sneakers in a mass volume.

The event offered free sneaker authentication to all visitors at our Richmond Centre location. With help from eBay Canada's head sneaker authenticator; Josh, we welcomed the public to bring their personal sneakers in-store to have them verified. The experience, knowledge and professionalism Josh displayed facilitated hundreds of pairs of sneakers being authenticated during the 2-day event. A truly impressive display of the  eBay “Authentication Guarantee” sneaker program, right in front of our eyes.

Aside from sneaker authentication, one of the highlight features for the event was the STAY FRESH x Mister Special Collaborative Ice Cream: the “Chi-Brûlée.” The locally treasured ice cream parlor worked with us to create an ice cream bar inspired by the Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago.’ The overall theme of the ice cream bar is achieved by starting with Mister’s signature Crème Brûlée sandwich and dipping it in a red fruit sauce to represent the red, white and black of the sneaker. Needless to say, the “Chi-Brûlée” was a huge hit.

The crowd did not disappoint. We saw a gathering of like minded sneakerheads in our local community who brought out the heat. Some brought deadstock sneakers that had recently been released, some brought absolute “unicorn” unreleased and rare pairs, and some brought sneakers that they’ve worn and loved for many years. It was the variety of treasures that proved the sneaker community in Canada is truly unique, impressive and world class. The collective of guests enthusiastically telling stories of their sneaker journey, the young and the old enjoying ice cream, the crowd vibing to the live music provided by CHELS and OL1, and the excitement of the giveaways proved that the event was something the Vancouver sneaker community was eager for.

Thank you to everyone that came by and enjoyed our REAL TIME event. The success of this event was truly made possible by the support we got from you, the local sneaker community. We look forward to hosting more events in the future, so make sure to stay tuned for more to come.
