Returning for the first time since 2020, Sneakercon re-emerges in Vancouver as one of the biggest traveling sneaker shows in the world and the largest sneaker and streetwear event the city has ever held.
Following a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Sneakerheads and Streetwear enthusiasts were finally gathered to buy, sell, and trade pieces of their collection. The suspense building up to the event finally reached its peak when the city of Vancouver showed up in masses to celebrate its great return to sneaker culture.
STAY FRESH commemorated the day with a collaboration with BannedLA on the ‘Always P’ apparel. The design was inspired by and for the ones who run the game, the ones pushing the boundaries while keeping the goods fresh, the ones who are always hustling, always winning and always P.
Drawing inspiration from the design of the apparel, STAY FRESH wanted to create an installation which envisioned an industrial environment similar to one would experience through the hustle on the grind to the top.
This year’s event sought out a different community within sneaker culture which was refreshing to see. With vintage clothing becoming a more sustainable way to shop and differentiate yourself, our friends 'RC Thrifts', 'Got it for Cheap Vintage' and 'Vancouver Thrift Vintage' are considered to be the youth pioneers within the vintage community.
Their dedication to capsuling pieces which range from sportswear and athleisure to workwear and avant garde has provided each notch on the streetwear spectrum with some sort of great appreciation to the art.
Arnold (left), Noah (right), Victoria and Graeme from RC Thrifts curated a standout collection of Vintage Carhartt pieces and a selection of other vintage tees.
Jhollo (center) and Chloe (right), owners of 'Vancouver Thrift Vintage' and 'Got it For Cheap Vintage' curated a wide range of apparel and sneakers. Their catalogue of vintage covers all corners of fashion such as sportswear, pop culture and high fashion pieces.
Jeoff, owner of Shoobox showcased his collection of Pins and Keychains modelled after popular sneaker models such as the Air Jordan 1, Nike SB Dunk Low, adidas Yeezy Boost 700 and New Balance 550.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, interacted with our team and purchased our collaboration with BannedLA. We are so grateful to be a part of Sneakercon again and can’t wait to continue our tradition of attending next year!
To celebrate Sneakercon and it’s return to Vancouver, we’d like to highlight our favorite 15 pairs of sneakers we saw on foot!
